Investment in robotic process automation (RPA) is set to rapidly rise, according to new research. A study has predicted a leap from a $216 million market in 2017 to a $870 million one by 2020.

Enterprise investment in robotic process automation (RPA) is set to soar in Australia and New Zealand, according to new research from analyst firm Telsyte.

Based on insights provided by 302 CIOs and IT decision makers, the Telsyte ANZ Robotic Process Automation Study 2017 predicts the ANZ RPA market will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 45 percent from AU$216 million in 2016 to AU$870 million in 2020.

NAB-owned UBank launches robot to sell home loans

In a first for an Australian bank, NAB-owned UBank has launched an artificial intelligence "chatbot" for home loans.

Using IBM Watson's supercomputer technology, it aims to reduce the time it takes to complete an application for a home loan, by providing real-time answers to questions that is available 24/7.
